Behind the Scenes

There is a lot going on in my life right now.

I’ve got a couple of books I am working on, along with a few website/blogs, the total of which require a lot of my attention, as well as does my normal job.  (I try my best on all my literary activities, and I always fully intend to mark them off my calendar where I so carefully wrote them, but, let’s face it, that is a huge number of goals for one person.)

We’ve got Corona virus happening.

It’s coming up on income tax time.

And spring garden plowing and planting time.

And, of course, we had a tornado that wiped out 50 miles of houses, buildings, and countryside.  Schools and some businesses are closed.  The wind got to 175 mph.

We’re not bored.

Behind the scenes, we start about 5 or 5:30 in the morning, and soon we are at the computer and working, but  I don’t usually call customers until after 8.  I am involved with real estate transactions on a statewide basis, and my involvement is largely technological.

I spend my first couple of hours during the day dealing with matters that came over my transom the previous night.  The rest of the morning is spent starting those new projects to be dealt with during the day.

My writing gets sprinkled in as it can.  I’d like to say I write my thousand words or my full hour early during the day, but I can’t.  I know my books won’t write themselves, but sometimes it is a fight to make it happen that I get them written.

But, I can and do continue sprinkling until 10 or 11 at night.  By the end of the day, I may have gotten in a total hour or even better!

My legs get really grouchy after sitting at a desk a long time, so this ts perfect to let me stretch my them occasionally without having to set an alarm to remind me.
