PJ’s zucchini, beans and cornbread dinner – the way writers eat!

A couple of you have asked me what life is like being an author.  Of course, the answer to that is easy to show.  Writers eat.  We sometimes sleep.  And often, we write.

Writers eat!

We do seem to put a larger-than-life emphasis on the eating part.  And my healthy diet is strictly due to my lovely wife, PJ.  So, I will point out a few additional food images.

The following is a lunch PJ prepared and left for my consumption.

Then having gained sustenance, we begin to write.

As it turns out, I have from past years, a dozen or so books begun, but not finished, that I hope to be working on this year.

Now I am a slow typist, and I do not use the dictation process, so I am involved in a bit of a slow roll.  PJ usually goes to her work during the day, which leaves me alone to do my writing along with my other work.  I also need to note here that I had a bit of a medical event during the holidays, so I am just now and slowly regaining my appetite.  Therefore my meals may look rather diminutive to you…

Now PJ crafts many of my meals by hand at the last minute, before she leaves for the day, but sometimes, I am fortunate enough that she brings out a slow cooker to cook dried beans or barbeque or various dishes that cook all day to perfection without anyone’s attention!  I heartily endorse and recommend that anyone have one of these slow cookers for the convenience and variety they bring.  But you can’t have PJ – just the cooker!
